Open Air Theatre

Open Air Theatre can be booked for performances at Rs. 6,000 for up to four (4) hours (taxes extra). Each additional hour is Rs. 1,000 (taxes extra) . Security Deposit is Rs. 4,000 for each booking.
Nazrultirtha was established in May 2014 as a cultural centre in remembrance of Kazi Nazrul Islam, the rebel poet of Bengal. Besides having an exhibition on the life and time of the poet and a digital archive on the invaluable documents of his literary activities, this cultural centre is now known for a state of the art public library having 15000 books and facilities of digital reading, on its second and third floor, three cinema halls to screen movies, two huge art galleries for holding painting exhibitions and events (family and social), a fascinating open air theater which can accommodate 200 people at a time and four deluxe guest rooms. Also, on the fourth floor, an AV studio which can be rented by audio/visual makers as well as Radio New Town studio that is broadcasted through apps, cultural and international events through the world wide web. As a cultural centre with cine attraction, hundreds of people throng the corridors of Nazrultirtha and enjoy the architectural and cultural ambience of the building. A rendezvous for art loving people, Nazrultirtha has also an attractive souvenir shop and a multi-cusine restaurant on the ground floor to spend time with your loved ones for having sumptuous foods.

  • A well-organized museum displaying the time and life of Kazi Nazrul Islam through rare photographs, personal items, documents, paintings etc.
  • Entry Fee: Rs. 20. Open: Daily 12 PM - 7 PM.

Muhafiz Khana

  • Muhafiz Khana is a room on the 2nd floor where visitors can go through a digital archive on Kazi Nazrul Islam containing a treasure-trove of information like first print of Nazrul's own books, magazines Nazrul edited, letters written by and to Nazrul, notations on Nazrul's songs etc. The archive also has an audio visual section containing recorded songs of Nazrul, films by Nazrul, videographed interviews of eminent Nazrul scholars etc.

Ticket Information

Entry ticket to visit the permanent exhibition on life and time of Kazi Nazrul Islam at Nazrul Tirtha is Rs. 20 for all days of the week. Ticket counter is opened from 12 PM to 7 PM.
