Nazrultirtha was established in May 2014 as a cultural centre in remembrance of Kazi Nazrul Islam, the rebel poet of Bengal. Besides having an exhibition on the life and time of the poet and a digital archive on the invaluable documents of his literary activities, this cultural centre is now known for a state of the art public library having 15000 books and facilities of digital reading, on its second and third floor, three cinema halls to screen movies, two huge art galleries for holding painting exhibitions and events (family and social), a fascinating open air theater which can accommodate 200 people at a time and four deluxe guest rooms. Also, on the fourth floor, an AV studio which can be rented by audio/visual makers as well as Radio New Town studio that is broadcasted through apps, cultural and international events through the world wide web. As a cultural centre with cine attraction, hundreds of people throng the corridors of Nazrultirtha and enjoy the architectural and cultural ambience of the building. A rendezvous for art loving people, Nazrultirtha has also an attractive souvenir shop and a multi-cusine restaurant on the ground floor to spend time with your loved ones for having sumptuous foods.
